Introducing | The GC Formula1 XS Frame

POSTED BY: GeoffUPLOADED ON: May 2011

Based on the popular Formula 1 frame, Ground Control’s new F1 XS frame features an extra wide split, deeper recessed axle bolts and a thicker H-block; 15 mm wider than the split found on the traditional F1 frame. The maximum wheel size is 60 mm (outside) and/or 56 mm if riding 4 wheels flat. It also comes with the smaller axle bolt heads of the FLT2 frames resulting in increased material around the axels for even more durability. The frame will premiere on GC Pro Rider, Stefan Horngacher’s Pro Skate.

New Features:
– Extra wide split
- Deeper recessed axle bolts
- Super thick center groove
- Additional material around axles
- Maximum wheel size outside 60 mm
- Maximum wheel size flat 56 mm

PowWow GC Vid Shoot

Well, it was one helluva trip. I think I may have been the only one lucky enough to walk away without a black eye, which actually became an initiation of sorts.. But who wants to be a part of this band of lunatics? It all started sometime around a sweltering hot Thursday in Orlando, amidst the usual suspects, we brought in rookies Keaton Newsom from Texas, Andrew Jacuzzi from Arkansas, and Julian Bah from California. Joining forces with Damien, Joey, Sammy, the LowLife crew and the rest of the Central Florida bladers, this party quickly turned from nice skate vacation in the south, to straight up living hard and scraping yourself off the floor every morning and strapping on the boots to jumping off roofs… rinse and repeat.

Starting off at Joey and Sammy’s place, between malt beverages and tests of human endurance, everyone soon had their “tour eye,” and things were looking up. We travelled around gathering footage, hanging out in parks with bums, and hitting up the sights and local water parks to keep sane.

A few days late, we found ourselves in Jacksonville.. still uncertain why this family would let us rent their house, we unlocked the door and unleashed hell on that poor beach house. Demons flew about crashing into one another, banging off of walls and through metal drenched speakers straight out the door onto the streets of Jacksonville and the poor surrounding communities. Somehow in all the dust and noise, we found our way to the Panhandle PowWow, that turned out pretty sweet as well.

Thank you Florida, you did a fine job keeping me in bed the last few days.
